Campaign Finance Registration Statement

    The very first item on the 2026 Ballot Access Checklist for School District Candidates is to "Register your Campaign Committee". 


    My first experience with this Campaign Finance Registration Statement form is that it was overkill for me.  The very first box was "Committee Name" as if I had a committee!  Nonetheless, in order to get my name on the ballot and participate in this democratic process, I need to get this paperwork together and submitted.
    
    In my initial statement [submitted on December 26th, 2025] I check off that I am exempt:
    Though, I think it is possible that I will need to submit an update to this and change that statement.  If I lean into this election and spend on yard signs, literature to leave on people's door handles and data to know whose door I should knock on, it seems like it will be pretty easy to breach the "$2,500 of activity" limit set forth.


    In any case, I can update this form in the future and I will learn as I go.
