Decision-Making Process

When making decisions as a board member, I will anchor my work in three guiding tenets.

Social Stewardship
My decisions must advocate for what is best for students, the community, and the district. Board actions affect many stakeholders—from students and teachers to principals, the superintendent, and local taxpayers. It is my responsibility to consider these varied perspectives and strive for decisions that are thoughtful, fair, and justifiable to those who depend on them. Sound decision-making requires a strong commitment to social stewardship.

Humility
I recognize that I will be learning continuously and will never have all the answers. That awareness demands curiosity, careful listening, and a willingness to revisit assumptions as I learn more about the complexities of our school district. Rather than rushing change for its own sake, I believe meaningful progress comes from understanding why policies and practices exist, what problems they were designed to address, and how well they have worked. By studying both intent and outcomes, I can approach change with care.  As a board member, a focus of mine will be to ask questions, thoughtful questions, and salient questions to the stakeholders that I represent.  My decision-making is strengthened by an approach grounded in humility.

Intellectual Integrity
I am committed to pursuing truth and revising my views when presented with new information. My beliefs are shaped by my experiences, but public service requires openness to ideas that challenge them. As a board member, I will listen carefully to differing perspectives and evaluate their merits in good faith. My decision-making is strengthened by self-reflection, openness, and a willingness to grow.
