Ordered My 1st Batch of Literature!
Today I ordered a 1000 flyers of my campaign literature. It should come in by Monday, and I will have that in hand to start canvassing later in the week.
I designed it with the help of a friend at Canva.com and, for a first attempt at creating political signage, I'm happy with where I landed. I asked for a bit of feedback, and only got commentary about the ideal size (I landed on 8.5in x 11in) and that the URL was too long (I acknowledge the feedback, but will move ahead with this blog URL since it is free of charge).
The front of the flyer I aimed to make readable from across the room and really home in on visually what I want taken away by the viewer:
- Vote
- Samuel M.
- Roth
- for
- NJSD School Board
Knowing that there are not likely to be very many people who take the time to visit this blog, let alone read what's on it, not to mention commenting or interacting, the back of the flyer tries to bring together some key points which might be relevant for a voter to consider:
- Father...
- Translate: I have skin in the game and want the best for NJSD.
- Data analyst... fiscal responsibility
- Translate: I'm intelligent enough and aware of the cost implications to be trusted in the role.
- Collaborative... thoughtful
- Translate: Not an ideologue, but someone who intends to learn develop well thought out solutions.
- Security, literacy and Societal Preparedness
- Translate: My talking points that help tether my ideas to some core principals.
